The same question is asked just about every time that I reminisce about my childhood with friends: were you an *NSYNC fan or a Backstreet Boys fan? Personally I was, and still am, a Backstreet Boys fan, but we won't get into that now.
Anyway, in my mind, the category of "boy band" is basically dominated by these two bands, and after their time, I honestly can't think of any other boy bands that are worth caring about. Until now.
So I present to you the British boy band that has taken the world by storm: One Direction! I realize that many of you may have already heard of this great group (I know I've known about them for a while), but in the off chance that you haven't heard of them yet, check them out.
That is if, you know, British boy bands are your cup of tea.

the best day of the year
You might have known that March 14 was pi day, but did you know that it is also national nap day? Two of my favorite things all combined into one special day: eating pie and taking naps. Awesome.
Yes, this joke still makes me laugh. I guess that means I probably don't have any friends.

nice thinking, ray
I like Ghostbusters. Who doesn't? So in homage to this awesome movie I made my lego look like "something that could never, ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft."

your nose is looking a little red there, let me fix that for you
You know when you go outside when it is really cold outside and your nose gets really cold, and starts to red and eventually run? I at least have a serious problem with this happening. Just about every year that I can remember, I get called Rudolph at least one time (and yes, it has already happened this year) for reasons that I'm sure that you can figure out.
This handy creation by Aunt Marty on Etsy puts an end to all of your nose's hardships with these handy nose warmers! As much as I would love to wear one of these things, I don't think I'll ever be able to make myself do so, but I will now always think about wanting to wear one when my nose is cold and running.

dale's culinary creations
My father loves experimenting, and it doesn't matter what his tools of experimentation are. He's an engineer, so I think that pretty much explains why he loves it so much all by itself.
From these experimentations were born some delicious things, and some disgusting things (the Bog Monster for instance, a drink of a sickly brown color that tasted just about as good as it looked). He has agreed to let me present the recipes to you, and I have decided only the successful ones shall be presented. Enjoy!
Recipe for the Maverik:
- Orange juice
- Squirt
Fill a glass halfway with Squirt, and then fill the other half with orange juice. Will make one per glass.
Now there is some debate on the ratio of these two drinks, but according to the creator of the drink himself, that is the correct ratio.
Over the holiday break, the Orange Slider was created. What is the Orange Slider? Let me tell you!
Recipe for the Orange Slider:
- Oranges sliced
- Whipped Cream
Take an orange slice and cover both sides of it with whipped cream. Will make about six per orange.
Basically, the Orange Slider is taking something that was once healthy and making it very unhealthy. Excellent.
Warning: The Orange Slider tends to be a bit difficult to eat, as Michelle demonstrates so well.
